Equine Associations

• Friends of the Sound Horse (FOSH) -  This organization is incorporated as a nonprofit, nonmember, public benefit humane and education organization.  Its purpose is to provide information to the public about the humane care, treatment and training of gaited horses, with a special emphasis on the Tennessee Walking Horse, and to promote the exhibition of the flat shod walking horse at competitions designed to showcase the natural gaited pleasure walking horse.

• Texas Equestrian Horse Association (TETRA) -  The purpose of this organization is to promote all phases of trail riding as a family activity; to educate the public as to the care and conditioning of the equine for trail activities; to promote environmental responsibilities, trail etiquette and safety; and to establish, improve and maintain trails and finally, to preserve the love of equines in Texas. 

  • TETRA Region 9  -  includes Brazoria, Brazos, Burleson, Fort Bend, Galveston, Grimes, Hardin, Harris, Jefferson, Liberty, Madison, Motgomery, Orange, San Jacinto, and Walker counties in Texas.
